EUROPEAN PLAN FOR AVIATION SAFETY 2026 EDITION

The European Plan for Aviation Safety (EPAS) is the Regional Aviation Safety Plan for EASA Member States. It outlines the strategic priorities for aviation safety, the primary safety risks affecting European aviation, and the necessary measures to mitigate them. Based on the ‘Strategic Priorities’ (Volume I) issued for 2023 – 2025 that has been extended to 2026, the 2026 edition of EPAS contains updated ‘EPAS Actions’ (Volume II) and ‘Safety Risk Portfolios’ (Volume III).

EPAS 2026 may help organizations approved and/or operating in the EASA Member States define or update their safety objectives, performance indicators (SPIs) and performance targets (SPTs).

CONSEQUENCES, TASKS

Organizations required to operate a Safety Management System should align their safety management and safety performance monitoring goals and efforts with those specified in the Regional and National Aviation Safety Plans. The Authority may verify compliance with the above at any time.
