IMPORTANT LEGISLATIVE CHANGE
We would like to draw your attention to an important legislative change primarily affecting pilot training organizations and aircraft operators under EASA regulation.
EU Regulation No. 2026/1821, issued on 27.07.2026 and entered into force on 17.08.2026, has amended the Annexes to EU Regulation 2015/1018 containing the categories and lists of aviation safety occurrences that are mandatory to be reported.
Consequently, the scope of events that are mandatory to be reported by pilots and other aviation professionals to the affected organizations, and by the affected organizations to the Competent Authority has been extended by:
The modifications are not yet included in the current version of Easy Access Rules for Occurrence Reporting, which is widely used by training organizations and operators.
CONSEQUENCES, TASKS
Pilot training organizations and aircraft operators that have not yet done so should implement the changes, update their manuals and communicate the changes towards the pilots and other aviation professionals employed by the organization as soon as possible.
If the organization fails to do so, it commits a legal infringement, which the Authority may detect and sanction during an on-site or "desktop" audit.
